UNIT 2-1 Japanese Syllables

Some consonant sounds can be combined with all five vowels. Japanese consonants are pronounced very weakly.

Listen and repeat each syllable at least three times.

Try to pronounce the consonant as weakly as possible.
  [a]           [i]           [u]           [e]           [o]
              [k]   ka     ki     ku     ke     ko
These sounds are called [ka] line syllables.

See if you can pronounce them successively.
