In Japanese, three kinds of expression are used according to the situation.


POLITE EXPRESSION
    Used by adults in general.

FORMAL EXPRESSION　　　
    Used by adults in formal situations such as talking to customers or executives         on business or when students ask professors for their opinions.

COLLOQUIAL EXPRESSION　　
    Used by children or youngsters in general or by adults in casual situations such       as talking with their close friends, family, or children.
