Let me explain about the signs used in the vocabulary lists. |
![]() | * The sign "(お)" shows that the prefix 「お」 is sometimes added. |
![]() | * The sign "お+" shows that「お」 is added at the beginning of the word. |
![]() | * The sign "FORMAL(お+:POLITE/FEMININE)" shows that the 「お」 added word can be used by everybody regardless of the speaker's sex in FORMAL situations. |
![]() | * When the sign is given as (お+:FEMININE), it means that men should not use the 「お」 added word because it sounds too feminine. It also suggests that women should use or it is better for women to use the 「お」added word. |
